1. Introduction
InterVoca is a vocabulary learning service operated by Studiomeal Inc., designed for international school students.
We value your privacy and are committed to protecting personal information in compliance with applicable laws, especially considering that our user base includes minors.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how long we retain it, and your rights regarding your personal data.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address (collected through social login via Google, Apple, or Kakao), nickname (display name)
- Profile Information: Grade level, preferred curriculum (British, IB, etc.), native language setting
- Support Inquiries: Information you voluntarily provide during customer support interactions
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Learning Data: Vocabulary study records, quiz scores, study time, streak count, word pack progress, XP, level, and Gems reward data
- Avatar Settings Data: Character appearance settings and item purchase/ownership records
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers
- Usage Logs: App launch times, feature usage, error logs and crash data
- App and Web Analytics Data: Data collected through Google Analytics and Google Analytics for Firebase, such as app launches, screen and page views, feature usage, learning and quiz completion events, paywall views, app-instance identifiers, and similar analytics data used to improve the service
2.3 Guest Mode Data Handling
If you use InterVoca in guest mode without signing in, learning records, quiz results, progress, reward information, and similar data are stored only on your device and are not synced to an InterVoca account or cloud server.
Learning data may be linked to your user account, stored, and synced only after you create an account or sign in.
2.4 Payment Information
InterVoca does not directly store payment information such as credit card numbers.
All payments are securely processed through Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) systems.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Providing personalized learning experiences
- Displaying learning progress and achievements
- Managing subscriptions and providing premium features
- Sending notifications (push notifications and email learning reports) — when enabled by the user
- Analyzing data for service improvement and new feature development
- Customer support and inquiry response
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
4.1 Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing
To provide our services smoothly, InterVoca outsources certain personal information processing tasks to external specialists as listed below, and our outsourcing agreements set out the requirements necessary to keep personal information securely managed.
- Supabase: Cloud infrastructure operation, database hosting, and user authentication
- RevenueCat: Subscription and payment status management
- Resend: Email delivery (weekly learning reports)
- Google Analytics · Google Analytics for Firebase: App and web usage analytics
- Cloudflare: Content delivery network (CDN) operation and traffic handling
If the content of the outsourced work or the service providers change, we will disclose this without delay through this Privacy Policy.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required by law, in response to legal processes or government requests,
or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or ourselves.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Local Law Compliance)
InterVoca is an educational service designed for international school students.
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States, the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of the Republic of Korea, and similar child privacy regulations in other jurisdictions.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we verify age through a date-of-birth check during the sign-up process.
- In accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea, children under the age of 14 may not create an account independently; a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account on their behalf. This standard also satisfies the under-13 protection requirements of the U.S. COPPA.
- If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 14 (or under 13 in the United States) without proper parental oversight, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
- Children's personal information is not used for targeted advertising or marketing purposes.
- Parents or legal guardians may request to review or delete their child's personal information.

6. Data Retention and Deletion
- Personal information is retained while your account remains active.
- You can request account deletion at any time through Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app.
- Upon account deletion, all personal information including learning records will be permanently and irreversibly deleted.
7. Transfer of Personal Information Overseas
InterVoca operates in a global service environment, and your personal information is transferred overseas (processed and stored) through the service providers below.
- Supabase — Country: Singapore / Items transferred: account information (email, nickname), profile (grade, curriculum, native language), learning/progress/reward data, avatar settings, device information / Purpose: cloud infrastructure and database operation, user authentication
- RevenueCat — Country: United States / Items transferred: app user identifier, subscription/payment status (receipts) / Purpose: subscription and payment status management
- Resend — Country: United States / Items transferred: email address, learning report content / Purpose: email delivery (weekly learning reports)
- Google (Analytics · Firebase) — Country: United States / Items transferred: app instance identifier, usage/event logs, device information / Purpose: app and web usage analytics
- Cloudflare — Country: United States and its global CDN network / Items transferred: information sent when accessing the service (e.g., IP address) / Purpose: content delivery and traffic handling
Time and method of transfer: Data is transferred on an ongoing basis over the network as you use the service (sign-up, learning, payment, report delivery, etc.).
Retention and use period: Retained until account deletion (withdrawal) or termination of the outsourcing agreement.
We apply appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable laws when transferring data overseas.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated due to operational needs or changes in applicable laws.
We will notify you of any changes through in-app notices or updates to this page, and the "Last updated" date will be revised.
